First blog...

A year ago, my husband and I moved into a "fixer upper" two bedroom one bathroom home lotted on 5.5 acres. We have spent so much time tiling, remodeling, painting walls, ceilings, floors- you name it. Still after a year we are no where close to being done with everything- but at least our home is completely functional and that is an accomplishment. In the mean time we have become experts at thriftiness... Excluding our living room couch, arm chair, rugs and dining room pendant lights- other than our two rugs- there is nothing in our home decor that we've paid full price for- actually I would say 80% of it was free. We spent time rummaging in relatives basements and parents attics to find some of the furniture we have and I would say we had an eye for what would look good with our cottage-chic theme... We are gradually filling the walls with art- it has to be a "collected over time" look that I just can't fake.

Because I do regret not beginning a blog years ago, I will lay claim to my nostalgia and post pictures of my activities around this time of the year- 1+ years ago :D
